Tribal Welfare Minister P Balaraju inaugurates the two-day Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu Job Mela

Tribal Welfare Minister P Balaraju has inaugurated the two-day Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu job mela at the Andhra University. The goal of Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu (RYK) mission is to provide 1 lakh jobs for youngsters by December-end and 15 lakh jobs by 2014. The job mela is organized with the support of Andhra University and Millennium Software.
Speaking at the launch of the event, Balaraju said that doubts were expressed when Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy announced employment to one lakh in private sector by December-end, but like all major programmes initiated by the state government, the RYK is also implemented in a transparent manner. He asked the district collector Lav Agarwal to provide concessions to IT companies, SEZs, Gangavaram port and other industries to set up units as per the MoU reached with the Government.
Vice-Chairman of Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu scheme KC Reddy urged more local companies to participate in the job melas. He said that the goal of the RYK is empowerment for the poor through employment and to also to eliminate poverty. Collector Lav Agarwal recalled that the Chief Minister announced the scheme in the city during August.
A huge turnout was witnessed on the first day of the Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu. An estimated 35,000 have turned up at the campus, and the figure is much beyond the expectations of the organizers. Rector of Andhra University PVGD Prasada Reddy, Mayor Pulusu Janardhana Rao, MLAs Dronamraju Srinivas Rao, M Srinivasa Rao and V Ramakrishna Babu, Municipal Commissioner B Ramanjaneyulu, Commissioner of Police J Purnachandra Rao, Additional Joint Collector S Satyanarayana and others participated.
