Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee T Subbarami Reddy tells reporters that 'Green Campaign' to launch 40 lakh trees in five years would be launched soon

A campaign to plant 40 lakh trees in five years by industries will be launched soon. The 'Green Campaign' was announced by Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Environment, Forests, Science and Technology T Subbarami Reddy after a meeting with top officials of industries at Four Points by Sheraton in the city.
Speaking to reporters, Subbarami Reddy said that the 'Green Campaign' project will cost nearly Rs. 80 crore. During the meeting, Dr. Reddy directed the industries to earmark funds for greenery. The committee met with officials of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, NTPC Simhadri Super Thermal Project, Hindustan Shipyard Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Limited during its visit to the city.
