G Srinivas takes over as new Superintendent of Police. Sets priorities; Praja Diwas to be held throughout Monday

G Srinivas took charge as the Superintendent of Police of Visakhapatnam District at the District Police Office. He came in the position of Vineet Brij Lal who was posted as DCP of Hyderabad.

Soon after taking his charge, Srinivas has set his priorities. He said he will take care of the welfare of the Maoists who surrendered. Improving public relations of the police department with the public, the Praja Diwas program will be held throughout the day on every Monday. The Dial Your SP program will be held from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. He said that he will strengthen the Jana Maitri program that was intended to take up the problems of a specific village and try to solve the problems in the locality by taking the matter with the higher ups.

G Srinivas joined the police force as the Deputy SP at Siricilla in 1990. He worked in Prodduturu and KAda and was later transferred as the ACP of Saifabad. He got promoted as the Additional DCP (Traffic) in 1999. He took part in the UN Assignment at Bosnia. On return, he was posted in Medak as the Additional SP (Administration) and later became the SP (Intelligence) in 2002. He was later sent on a mission to South Africa. On return, he headed the Special Investigation Team. He got trained in the US and was posted in East Godavari in April 2010 as SP.
