Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited
The Visakha Refinery of the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) is one of the two key oil refineries owned by HPCL, a Fortune 500 company. The Visakha Refinery is located in the East Coast while the other refinery, the Mumbai Refinery is located in the West Coast. HPCL also have few other refineries under joint ventures.
The Visakha Refinery has a production capacity of 8.3 MMTPA.
The Visakha Refinery produces Light Distillates (Liquified Petroleum Gas, Naphtha, Motor Spirit and Propylene), Middle Distillates (Mineral Turpentine Oil, Aviation Turbine Fuel, Superior Kerosene Oil, High Speed Diesel, JBO/WO, CO, Light Diesel Oil) and Heavy Ends (Furnace Oil, Low Sulphur Heavy Stock, Bitumen and others).
Gross refining margins of Visakh Refinery averaged at US$ 2.59 per barrel as against US$ 2.42 per barrel for the year 2008-09.
