Drinking water works for Girijan areas to start soon. Minister for Tribal Welfare says Rs 250 crores allotment to come from 13th Finance Commission.

Visakha City, May 7, 2011

Minister for Tribal Welfare P Balaraju said that drinking water works worth Rs 670 crores are either started or are in the course of being started. The works are taken up in line with the Government’s plan to provide safe and drinking water to all Girijan habitat in the state.

The minister said that Rs. 210 crores was allotted under the state and NRDWP funds for major projects in various parts of the state. Paderu and Araku was allotted Rs. 14 crores.

Works worth Rs. 250 crore allotted under the 13th Finance Commission would commence soon in different districts. The works are to be completed before three-years' time frame.
