Commissioner warns of penal action against violators. Fine imposed on Tata Tele Services for not levelling manhole.

The Commissioner of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) said that the corporation will act tough at violators. Commissioner B Ramanjaneyulu visited various parts of the city and inspected the works being undertaken.
The GVMC imposed a penalty of Rs. 10,000 on Tata Tele Services for not levelling a manhole. Similarly, a fine of Rs. 1000 was imposed on a medical agency for dumping garbage. He inspected the 21st ward and ordered that the bills payable to the contractor for providing street lighting be stopped following complain of their poor maintenance.
The commissioner found that a motor was attached to the municipal water supply and ordered that the water supply to the house be stopped. A fine of Rs. 10,000 was imposed. Similarly at Relli Veedhi, the Commissioner ordered for the stopping of the salary of a sanitary worker for his negligence and not clearing the garbage properly.
