Hoax bomb call sends police and HSBC BPO employees in a tizzy
Siripuram, December 27, 2011
A hoax bomb call has sent the police and the HSBC BPO employees into panic late in the night. The reception at the HSBC BPO in Siripuram received a call that a bomb has been placed in the building and that it might go off at any time. The HSBC control immediately informed the police at 9:30 pm who rushed to the spot with sniffer dogs.
The police team led by Visakhapatnam South Assistant Commissioner of Police P Venkat Rao has thorough checked the building and has only allowed the employees to enter the building after thorough frisking and scanning. There was a bit of confusion during the search process as the media from TV and print media came in large numbers to cover the incident.
The call came from a number outside the state.
