APTF district unit stages dharna in front of Collectorate

Teachers owing allegiance to APTF stages dharna in front of Collectorate. Demands action against DEO who is allegedly committing irregularities in counselling and transfer of teachers.

Teachers owing allegiance to the Andhra Pradesh Teachers' Federation (APTF) demanded the immediate withdrawal of the G.O. no. 130. They held a protest in front of the district Collectorate in response to a call given by the State unit of APTF. They burnt copies of the G.O. no 130 and also raised slogans against the state government.

The strike by the APTF district unit reached the sixth day today. They condemned the irregularities in the transfers and rationalization of Teachers. The APTF district general secretary B Venkatapathi Raju demanded the suspension of District Education Officer A Sai Babu. The association has alleged that the DEO is committing irregularities in counselling and transfer of teachers. They also said that representations were submitted to Tribal Welfare Miister P Balaraju but no action was initiated against the DEO.
